Kansas State: Huggins’ Schedule Indicates Higher Expectations

Huggins’ Schedule Indicates Higher Expectations: The Kansas State Wildcats have not played a single minute of basketball in the Bob Huggins era, but national news coverage and optimism continue to surround Manhattan. The Wildcats’ new coach recently announced the team’s schedule. The Wildcats will play a nationally televised game against Texas in February, marking the team’s first national TV appearance since Ronald Reagan was president. Huggins upgraded last season’s soft non-conference schedule by agreeing to play California, Xavier, New Mexico, Colorado State and North Dakota State on the road. The Wildcats will also play in the Las Vegas Holiday Classic, which features a game vs. USC and a possible clash with Wichita State. [7/21/06]
