Huskers Hire Sadler: UTEP is apparently a stepping stone for coaches with Big 12 aspirations. Nebraska has hired UTEP coach Doc Sadler to replace Barry Collier, who left the school to become Butler’s athletic director. Sadler follows in the footsteps of his UTEP predecessor, Billy Gillespie, who left the school for Texas A&M after guiding the MIners to success. In two seasons with the Miners, Sadler led the team to 48 wins, an NCAA Tournament berth and an NIT appearance. [8/15/06]
