Owls Grounded: Temple’s post-Cheney era is in the midst of its first major crisis after learning that Wayne Marshall and Mark Tyndale are academically ineligible. The two projected starters must sit until at least December. Marshall averaged 7.2 points and four rebounds per game last season, and Tyndale averaged 10.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. New Temple coach Fran Dunphy must hope that his other players are up to the challenge of replacing Tyndale and Marshall’s production. [9/03/06]
