Finney Returns to Kentucky as Assistant: Former Tulane coach Shawn Finney will return to Kentucky as an assistant coach and director of basketball operations, the school announced Sept. 22. Finney, fired last year by Tulane after five seasons and a 60-86 overall record, will reunite with Kentucky coach Tubby Smith, whom he worked for as an assistant at Tulsa from 1991-95, Georgia from 1995-97 and Kentucky from 1997-2000. Finney said he is excited about the opportunity to work for the Wildcats and Smith again, Finney said. [9/25/06]
