Jackson State: White Expelled From School After Weapons Charges

White Expelled From School After Weapons Charges: Jackson State expelled guard Charlie White from the university Oct. 4 for violations of the student code of conduct. Campus police arrested White Sept. 22 on weapons charges. White played in all 32 games last year for the Tigers, averaging 7.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. In a statement concerning the suspension, Marcus Chanay, Jackson State’s dean of students, said the school “takes the safety of its students and staff very seriously. Possession of weapons on campus is a violation of university policy and state law. We followed our judicial process to address the breach of that policy.” [10/05/06]
