Maryland: Terps’ Frosh Burney Out at Least a Month

Terps’ Frosh Burney Out at Least a Month: Maryland freshman Jerome Burney will miss at least a month of action after fracturing a bone in his left foot. Burney, a 6-9 forward, was expected to be one of the top freshman for the Terrapins this season. Coach Gary Williams said the injury will not require surgery, and he expects Burney “to make a full recovery and return to the rotation as quickly as possible.” Burney finished his career at Westlake High in Georgia as the all-time blocks leader and helped his team to a 32-1 record and runner-up finish in the state championship.
