Sutton Cuts Flowers: Oklahoma State coach Sean Sutton dismissed freshman Gary Flowers from the team Oct. 7 for a violation of team rules. Although a news release from the school didn’t specify a reason for the dismissal, it is likely connected with Flowers’ recent run-ins with the law. Sutton had previously indefinitely suspended Flowers Sept. 13 after campus police arrested the 20-year-old for marijuana possession. Less than a week later, Flowers was arrested for driving without a license. Sutton said the suspension was “in the best interest of the OSU basketball program.” [10/08/06]
