North Carolina State: Wolfpack Forward Prefers Baseball

Wolfpack Forward Prefers Baseball: North Carolina State junior Andrew Brackman will forgo the upcoming season to focus on his budding baseball career. Brackman, a pitcher and a power forward, wants to prepare his game for the next level in hopes of earning a high draft spot in next year’s baseball draft. He averaged 7.6 points per game last season and would have been one of the few experienced returning players in Raleigh. In addition to Brackman, North Carolina State won’t have forward Cedric Simmons because he left the school for the NBA. New coach Sidney Lowe looks to have a challenging year ahead with only one experienced frontcourt player in sophomore Ben McCauley, who averaged just 2.1 points and 6.9 minutes per game last season.
