Former Trojan Captain Dies: Former Souther California Trojan Tom Riach, 77, died Oct. 11. The family did not immediately release the cause of death. Riach played for USC in the early 1950s and was the team’s captain in 1951, averaging 8.3 points per game. He was a No. 7 overall draft choice in the NBA Draft that year, and Riach also played baseball with the Chicago White Sox. [10/13/06]
