Jayhawk Center Giles Suspended, Faces Child Support Allegations: Kansas junior forward C.J. Giles was suspended from the team Oct. 18, and a day later, the reasons became clear. Giles is scheduled to appear in a Douglas County District Court for allegedly failing to pay child support of his 1-year-old son. Giles was ordered to pay Laura Bender, the mother of Jaiden Giles, $241 in child support a month, plus a judgment of $2,892 for expenses she had occurred since the baby’s birth. According to Bender, Giles hasn’t made any of the payments. Giles started 13 of 33 games last season for Kansas and was expected to start at forward this season. [10/20/06]
