Montana State: Former Montana State Center Killed in Car Crash

Former Montana State Center Killed in Car Crash: Former Montana State center Al Beye, a first-team all-Big Sky selection last season, died in an automotive crash Friday. Beye was traveling with his brother to a Christmas party when the vehicle, driven by his brother, rolled over. According to the Beaverhead County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle went out of control because of inattentive driving, and there were no signs of drugs or alcohol. Neither man was wearing a seatbelt. The 6-11 senior held the school’s single season record for blocked shots, 62, and was chosen Co-Defensive MVP of the Big Sky last season. In Beye’s honor, men’s and women’s teams will wear Beye’s number, 55, on their uniforms for the remainder of the season. [12/18/06]
