UCLA: Bruins Plan to Honor Wooden With Better Pavilion

Bruins Plan to Honor Wooden With Better Pavilion: UCLA plans to renovate Pauley Pavilion, made famous by the Wizard of Westwood, John Wooden, as the Bruins’ home during the team’s dominating run of 10 championships during the 1960s and 1970s. The university will select an architect in the coming months and schedule the renovation for completion by 2010 so the Bruins can dedicate the upgrades to Wooden on his 100th birthday Oct. 14, 2010. The newer Pauley Pavilion will contain upgraded locker rooms, a video room, a media room, a medical treatment facility, practice facilities, more concession stands, more restrooms and modern arena technology.
