Sexual Harassment Suit Filed Against Flames Assistant: Luiz Martinez, a walk-on freshman at Illinois – Chicago, filed a lawsuit in federal court Thursday alleging sexual harassment by Lynn Mitchem, an assistant coach for the Flames. The suit claims Mitchem put a hand on Martinez’s bare chest and made sexually suggestive comments in the locker room after the Dec. 19 game. The suit also claims Mitchem tried to intimidate Martinez by asking him about his grades and punching his arm and is seeking more than $1 million in damages. Coach Jimmy Collins has been on leave because of mental and physical exhaustion and has not commented on the suit. Mark Rosati, associate chancellor for public affairs at the university, said Thursday that the university doesn’t comment on litigation. He said Mitchem is on paid leave. [1/21/07]
