Texas Tech: Coach Knight Not in Favor of New Rule

Coach Knight Not in Favor of New Rule: Texas Tech coach Bob Knight is speaking out over the new NBA rule that requires all players to wait one year after graduating high school before playing in the pros. According to Knight, this rule hurts the college programs because it affects the “integrity of college basketball.” He also cites that a player who knows he will only stay one year does not need to focus on schoolwork or go to class. Knight said he will never recruit a player with those intentions because it will hurt the overall program, and he disagrees with teams that knowingly recruit one-year players, like Texas did with the Big 12’s three-time player of the week Keven Durant.
