West Coast Conference Tournament Quarterfinals: No. 5 San Diego won its second game in two days by beating No. 4 San Francisco 77-75 in the West Coast Conference Tournament quarterfinals. The Toreros avenged two regular-season losses to San Francisco by overcoming a 10-point first-half deficit. Ross DeRogatis led San Diego with 17 points. The Toreros will play No. 1 Gonzaga in the semifinals. No. 3 St. Mary’s took out No. 7 Portland 87-47, embarrassing the host of the conference tournament to advance to the semifinals against No. 2 Santa Clara. Diamon Simpson had a great game with the Gaels by scoring 20 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. [3/03/07]
