NCAA: 3 Point Line May Be Backed Up

3 Point Line May Be Backed Up: The NCAA Men’s Basketball Rules Committee approved a rule that would back the three-point line up one foot from 19 feet, 9 inches to 20 feet, 9 inches. It would be the first alteration to the three-pointer since 1987. For the rule to go into effect, the rules oversight committee would also have to approve the rule change. The committee also considered moving the line to the international distance of 20 feet, 6 inches. [5/9/07]
