USC: Trojans’ Hackett Called Up to National Team

Trojans’ Hackett Called Up to National Team: Southern California guard Daniel Hackett was summoned by Italy’s national team coach Carlo Recalcati to play a series of friendly matches against Croatia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The 6-5 sophomore-to-be averaged 5.3 points and 2.9 rebounds per game for the Trojans last season.  His best game came in an 87-68 NCAA tournament second-round rout of Kevin Durant and Texas, where he scored 20 points on 9-of-14 shooting. Italy is preparing itself for Eurobasket 2007, which will be held in Spain in September. [5/23/07]
