NBA Draft ’07 – Utah Nabs Rice’s Almond: Rice senior guard Morris Almond was selected 25th overall by the Utah Jazz in the NBA Draft. Almond, the 2007 Conference USA Player of the Year, finished 3rd in the NCAA with 26.4 points per game (a CUSA record), averaged 6.6 rebounds per game and shot 85 percent from the free-throw line.
