Duke: Duke’s Leading Scorer Has Surgery

Duke’s Leading Scorer Has Surgery: Duke senior guard DeMarcus Nelson had surgery this week to repair a broken wrist. Nelson led the Blue Devils in scoring, averaging 14.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, two assists and 1.3 steals per game last season. He broke his wrist during tryouts for the Pan American Games. The surgery will force Nelson to sit for six to eight weeks. He should be ready by the time school starts in the fall. [7/21/07]
