Missouri: Mizzou Dismisses Kalen Grimes

Mizzou Dismisses Kalen Grimes: Missouri coach Mike Anderson has dismissed Kalen Grimes, a senior forward who led the Tigers in rebounding last season, from the team. Grimes was charged with a second-degree felony aggravated assault after being accused of hitting a man in the head with the butt of a shotgun outside a Dairy Queen at 3 a.m. Police searched Grimes’ vehicle and found a loaded handgun. The incident took place in the 21-year-old’s hometown of Florissant, Mo. The victim in the attack suffered a cut to the forehead, and Grimes was struck in the head with a lug wrench. Missouri started a zero-tolerance policy after transfer DeMarre Carroll was shot outside a Columbia nightclub earlier this month. Grimes was released on $15,000 bond. [7/25/07]
