Ball State: Cardinals’ Nest Down to Nine

Cardinals’ Nest Down to Nine: Ball State coach Billy Taylor has dismissed seniors Micah Rollin and Jarrelle Redden because they violated team policy, leaving the team with nine scholarship players. The Cardinals’ new coach is running a tight ship in Muncie, Ind., after previous coach Ronny Thompson drew two NCAA accusations of rules violations. Rollin, a senior center who transferred from Southern Idaho and played only one season at Ball State, averaged 6.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game last season. Redden also played only one season for the Cardinals, arriving at Ball State from Cincinnati State Technical College. He averaged 1.6 points and 1.8 rebounds per game last season. [10/12/07]
