Academics Ground Hawk: Saint Joseph’s sophomore guard D.J. Rivera will miss the team’s games during the first semester while he focuses on improving his grades. Coach Phil Martelli said Rivera will practice with the team, but only when he and tutors approve the time away from his studies. Rivera figures to play a more important role for Saint Joseph’s this season after averaging 5.9 points per game off the bench last season. [10/14/07]
