Pittsburgh: Injuries Mounting for Pittsburgh

Injuries Mounting for Pittsburgh: Pittsburgh junior point guard Levance Fields could be out for the rest of the regular season after breaking his left foot in the Panthers’ blowout loss at Dayton Saturday. Fields will miss eight to 12 weeks while rehabilitating the injury. The Panthers lost their first game of the season against the Flyers, who stormed Pittsburgh in the 80-55 rout. Fields might be available for the Panthers by the NCAA Tournament. He joins forward Mike Cook on the injured list. Cook tore his ACL against Duke Dec. 20 and will miss the remainder of the season. Combined, Cook and Fields averaged 22.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game. [12/31/07]
