Horn Cashes out on Hilltoppers’ Success: Western Kentucky coach Darrin Horn announced Monday that he is leaving the Hilltoppers to become South Carolina’s coach, filling the vacancy created by Dave Odom’s retirement. Horn led the Hilltoppers to a surprising Sweet 16 run this season before Western Kentucky lost to Final Four-participant UCLA in a competitive battle. In five seasons with the Hilltoppers, Horn has a 111-48 record. As part of the terms of his buyout at Western Kentucky, South Carolina must play the Hilltoppers four times in coming years. [4/01/08]
