Texas Assistant Takes Over at Western Kentucky: Ken McDonald, an assistant coach at Texas, will become Western Kentucky’s head coach, replacing Darrin Horn, who took the South Carolina job. McDonald had formerly worked at Western Kentucky as an assistant from 1998 to 2003, helping the Hilltoppers reach three consecutive NCAA Tournaments. The Hilltoppers won 29 games and reached the regional semifinals of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 15 years this year. [4/09/08]
