7 Inducted Into Hall of Fame: William Davidson, owner and president of the Detroit Pistons basketball operations, was elected into the Hall of Fame, along with broadcaster Dick Vitale and coach Pat Riley. Pat Riley is the third-winningest coach in NBA history, and he said he considered his election “unbelievable.” Vitale said he was overcome with emotion. As an ESPN commentator, he brings the game to millions of fans with his great passion.

The Hall of Fame Class of 2008 also includes Hakeem Olajuwon, Patrick Ewing, Adrian Dantley and coach Cathy Rush. Ewing and Olajuwon are two NBA greats who battled each other for years, while Dantley is a six-time NBA all star who played in the league for 15 years.
