Alabama’s Backcourt Gets Thinner for 2008-09: Alabama guards Rico Pickett and Justin Tubbs were granted releases from their scholarships, a move that allows them to transfer. Pickett, a freshman point guard, started 20 games and averaged nearly six points per game. Tubbs appeared in 18 games and averaged three points per game.
