UTEP: Miners’ Scoring Leader Won’t Be Prosecuted

Miners’ Scoring Leader Won’t Be Prosecuted: The El Paso district attorney has decided not to prosecute UTEP junior guard Stefon Jackson after deciding that the facts don’t support the charge. Police arrested Jackson in April and charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution because they believed Jackson knew his cousin’s whereabouts. Jackson’s cousin is wanted for charges of attempted murder because of his involvement in a March shooting in Philadelphia. Jackson led the Miners with 23.6 points per game. [5/16/08]
