Hokies Down Thompson for 4-6 Weeks: Virginia Tech sophomore forward J.T. Thompson will miss four to six weeks while recovering from sports hernia surgery. Thompson had the surgery Friday morning. Thompson averaged 5.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game for the Hokies last season. [11/14/08]
