Former Fairleigh Dickinson and Long Island Player Dies

According to an Associated Press report, former Farleigh Dickinson coach Dick Holub died has died. He was 77.

Holub, a member of 1941 NIT champion Long Island, died July 27 in Sun City West, Ariz.

Holub played for the New York Knicks for one season and was their leading scorer, before becoming a coach at Fairleigh Dickinson from 1949 to 1966. He had a record of 233-167 with the Knights.

In 1981, he became an academic adviser to the athletics department at Connecticut.
