Illinois: Illini Start Season Without Jordan

Illinois junior guard Jeff Jordan is ineligible for the Illini’s first two games, against Southern Illinois-Edwardsville and Northern Illinois, according to an Associated Press report.

Jordan, son of the legendary Michael Jordan, played in an unsanctioned three-on-three basketball tournament during the summer. He quit the team after last season and was not associated with the team when he played in the tournament. However, he changed his mind in October and returned to the team.

A reserve guard, Jordan averaged 1.0 points and 1.0 assists per game last season.
