Arkansas: Fine Points of Rules Lead to Secondary Violation

Arkansas reported a secondary violation to the NCAA after a magazine printed photos of basketball players and used captions that referenced local businesses, according to an Associated Press report.

Players are not allowed to be tied to advertising content, which could describe the photo and caption in the magazine. The university added that no one in the athletic office approved the noneditorial use of the players’ images or knew about the incident until the magazine was published.
